With the support of the Ontario Arts Council’s Ontario Dances Program and the Department of Canadian Heritage, Centre for the Arts, Brock University is proud to offer FREE community outreach opportunities with some of the world’s most prestigious dance artists and choreographers.
No dance experience necessary! Open to all ages and all levels of experience.
*This event is suitable for children ages 8+. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Duration is approximately 1.5 hours.
Using the fundamental movements of African and Caribbean dance - including undulations, rhythmic contractions and releases with the core, the students will learn movements from a traditional dance accompanied by live percussion musicians. The resounding beat of the drums educates and motivates the participants.
