“Adorable even before it starts wagging its tails.” (National Post)
Ballet Jörgen Canada’s recently revamped version of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker draws its inspiration from the paintings of Canada’s Group of Seven artists like Tom Thomson, A. Y. Jackson and Lawren Harris, to create a wonderfully enchanting world of Arcadian delight. This classic piece of choreography and music is a seasonal favourite around the world, but this version has a distinctly Canadian flavour that reminds of Algonquin woods and frozen lakes with abundant animals. With beautiful costumes, exquisite backgrounds, great dancing and some of the most distinctly recognizable music of all time, this production is designed for you and your family as you settle into the coming holiday season.
“The dancing was strong both technically and artistically. The choreography was well crafted and interesting. This company is one of our jewels in the dance world.” – CFTA Patron (Oct. 25/08)
“The calibre of the dancers was stellar and the choreography was superb! This performance restored my faith in ballet in Canada!” - CFTA Patron Karen Freeman Thorpe (Oct. 25/08)
